A computer’s graphics card is an important piece of hardware that handles the display of images and videos on the screen. If you need to replace your graphics card or are just curious about its specifications.

Or maybe you’re trying to register it for a warranty, or maybe you just want to know for future reference,  turns out you can find its serial number easily, In this post, we’ll show you how how to find a graphics card serial number on both Windows and Mac computers. Let’s get started!

What Exactly Is Graphics Card Serial Number And Why Do You Need To Know It?

A Graphics Card serial number is simply a 12-digit number that identifies your card. It’s used for things like registering the card for warranty, or if you ever need to replace it.

It can also help you track down the original purchase date and other important information just in case it gets stolen.

How To Find Graphics Card Serial Number

There are a few different ways you can find your Graphics Card serial number, and we’ll show you how to do it on both Windows and Mac computers.

1. On Windows

  2. Click on “Advanced Display Settings.”
  3. Scroll down to the “Display Adapter Properties” section and click on the “Adapter” tab.
  4. Your Graphics Card serial number will be listed under the “Device ID” field.

2. On Mac

  1. Open the Apple Menu and select “About This Mac.”
  2. Click on the “System Report” button.
  3. Select “Graphics/Displays” from the Hardware section.
  4. Your Graphics Card serial number will be listed under the “Model” field.

Now that you know how to find your Graphics Card serial number, it should be easy to register it for warranty or track down important information if it ever gets lost or stolen. Be sure to keep this handy so you can always reference it in the future!

Alternative Route

If you find these methods too complicated or confusing, you can physically find out your graphics card serial number by taking out the graphics card and looking on it for a sticker that will have the number printed on it.

Here is how you can do it:

  1. Shut down your computer and disconnect all the cables connected to it.
  2. Open up the CPU cabinet and locate your graphics card. It will be inserted into a PCI slot on the motherboard.
  3. Carefully remove the graphics card from its slot and look for a sticker on it with the serial number printed on it.
  4. If you can’t find the sticker or the serial number is unreadable, you can also look for a barcode on the card that can be scanned to get the information.

Through BIOS Mode

If that doesn’t help,  try Booting into BIOS and check under system information. The serial number of the graphics card should be listed there. To do this:

  1. Restart your computer and press the BIOS key when it booting up. This key is usually F2, F10, Del, or Esc. If you’re not sure which key to press, just Google your Motherboard Model BIOS key.”
  2. Once you’re in the BIOS menu, look for a section called “System Information” or something similar.
  3. Your graphics card’s serial number should be listed under that section.
  4. If you can’t find it there, try looking under the “Boot” or “Hardware” sections.
  5. It will then display your Graphics Card Serial number.
